Yes. I got sleepy in middays. I don't really like the feeling especially in those times when my mind goes completely blank and I don't want to do anything. I perform less and I know it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So here is what I have decided to do. I am going to address the obstacles. I know that waking up early is easy. But sleeping early is also tied with that habit. Its useless to wake up early if I will be sleeping at the middle of the day. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So here's what I am going to do.&lt;br /&gt;1. Ask my boyfriend to come 8pm and no later than 9:30pm&lt;br /&gt;2. Call him when he is not yet online and it is already 9:30pm&lt;br /&gt;3. Tell him that you have to sleep because you end up sleeping in middays and doing no work&lt;br /&gt;4. Tell him that if you cannot call him or he is not online by 10,&amp;nbsp; you have to sleep.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I know that everything sounds pretty strict. But I really have to be strict for myself. I failed today because:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;1. I slept late&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;2. I ignored my alarm clock&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;3. I slept in thinking that it is still early...&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;Boy was it a great mistake. I ended up waking at 8am... 2 hours later than my designated time.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;So my alternative plan is this.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;1. I will convince my boyfriend that I really have to sleep early no matter what&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;2. I will enlist the help of my mom in waking me up early&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;3. Wake up at 6am everyday but I sleep really late at 12. I just get around 6 hours of sleep. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;It is amazing how the body adjusts to a habit. Now I found that I wake up on the same time everyday whether or not I heard my alarm clock. And the best part is that it is not February yet. I am just around&amp;nbsp;4 days&amp;nbsp;into the preparation and I am already doing great. I will not let this momentum pass.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"&gt;I guess life is really all about a&amp;nbsp;wave of habits. If you create good habits, then you will have a good life but create a wave&amp;nbsp;of bad habits and you will have the opposite. While Saturday mornings are naturally serene, Sunday and Monday mornings seem to have a bit of a gloomy energy in it. Maybe it has something to do with waking up early because people have to go to their job or go to church.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But what I love most about the morning is the routine. I get to experience life a little better. I get to do a wave of good habits in the morning which gets me motivated pretty much in the whole day. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So I am going to keep this up. I am going to start focusing on this habit from February onwards but I figured I will start right away just so I can get a feel of it. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One of the things I have observed is that I find it hard to sleep early because of my boyfriend. He has lots of things that he likes to do at night.. Not that I cannot control him or anything. He likes to keep me waiting because he likes to talk to me and he gets angry when I log out or leave him by himself. I always need to say good night.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So my resolve for this barrier or obstacle is to get him engaged in my habit. I will tell him once and for all that I am going to change the habit. If possible, I will ask him to logon early so we can talk before I go to sleep. I will tell him that it is also for him as well. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I don't know how this will turn out but I am trying tonight. I will tell him about the plan and my goals - yes! even my other goals.. Hopefully he'll understand. Usually, you start with a huge list of habits only to be disappointed because you did not get to do anything at the end of the year..&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;I want to change my life. I do not want to just adopt the habits and then forget about it later. I want them to stick and be a part of my life. And with this... I will be creating 30-day challenges for myself. I am setting these little blogs on how I ingrained these little habits in my life.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;First on the list is the habit of waking up early. Last year was a magical year because I got to meet a lot of new people. However, with all the people that I have met comes the demand to sleep late and wake up late. Although I have also been doing this before in my Internet marketing work, I think that this is leading me to no good. I don't get my 8 hours of sleep which my body deserves and I don't get to greet the morning sun. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Also, I found something magical with the morning...I found that a morning routine is powerful. I saw how many things I can do because of the cold morning air. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;With this.. I resolve that I will sleep at 10pm and wake up at 6am from January 31, 2012. I will let the habit 'sink in' by engaging in a 30-day challege. I will sleep and wake at those times from January 31, 2012 to February 29, 2012..&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;All of my other habits will build upon this habit. I will also share my experience in the Zenhabits forums and enlist the help of the people who are close to me namely my mom, my sister, my cousin and my boyfriend..&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;I will set my boundaries by being strict about the time. I usually stay up late because me and my boyfriend like to talk for at least 3 hours before I go to sleep. I know it's insane that is why I think I should be strict with myself and dismiss chit-chat until the next day.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Also, I want to do this to help my boyfriend to be healthy. He is experiencing acid reflux and all of that is because we sleep late. I need to break this habit right now and replace it with a good habit. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;So good luck to me this 2012..
